The difference between ‘Choice’ and ‘Decision’

The difference between ‘Choice’ and ‘Decision’

I want to talk about the decision today. We are making decisions all the time, but something got me this morning on my morning walk. (Yes I got up and went for a dawn walk) I was listening to the legendary Bob Proctor talking about the power of our decision. Everything that we can see with our five senses was first a thought a dream or desire. But its the power of the DECISION to move ahead with it.
Getting out of our habits, of fear, or doubt or trying to work out the pathway to get there is debilitating. In fact, Bob talks about how most people don’t live the life they want to live; They don’t live in the house they want, they don’t work in the kind of jobs they love. When expressing desire, they have lots of logical reasons why they cant, or they need to wait etc.

I have heard this before, and yet it impacted me this morning. And this was the difference between choice and decision. I can choose to do something. Let’s take exercise for example. I can choose to exercise because I want to be active fit and healthy. My track record has not been consistent in the past for example. Or I can stand in my power and make a decision that I will take care of my body. There is something magnetic, powerful and full of intent about a decision.
In fact, I believe its the difference required to reaching a goal or not.
If you decide that this is happening nothing can stop you. All obstacles can fly into your path, and it won’t rock you because you have decided with that incredible power.

I was reminded of a workshop I did over 23 years ago. It was called the Creating Success program. CSP for short. On the first day of the three-month program. We had to decide on a goal that we were going to deliver at the end of the three months. It had to be outside our scope of comfort, logical, attainable but stretch us beyond our normal parameters.
At the time I was in my 20’s, and I had no money and no car. I had no credit history, no credit cards and I had numerous jobs at that time. My promise, my decision, was that I would have a car by the end of the three months.
I can’t even explain now what actions I did to make all of this happen. I do recall making an appointment with my local branch manager because that’s what I thought I needed to do.
Ultimately what I remember is that my decision had power. It was not negotiable; this WAS going to happen.
I guess what I’m going to ask myself is what decision am I making about this. For someone who procrastinates, or sits on the fence, being decisive will change your energy and focus.
If you would like to see the Bob Proctor video I’m referring to; I have included below.

What are you going to decide on?

Until next week,
Love and hugs
Andy xx
