Selling yourself short? Undervaluing your assets? Not embracing your worth? Common themes amongst women aren’t they? Here’s a radical thought. Perhaps it’s time to stop? Perhaps it’s time to review, reflect and embrace some of the wonderful things about you. YES I’m talking to you.
The challenge of course is that when we do this, when we acknowledge some of our great qualities and OWN it, can we move past the notion or judgment of being big headed, full of ourselves or the perception of a loss of humbleness? I’ll be the first to put my hand up. Yep! I find that difficult. So, what if, you took an inventory quietly? could you do this?
What if, you snuggled yourself into a favourite chair with your favourite bevvy and do an audit on where you might be selling yourself short and better still why not use the time to note down your wonderful assets. Following are a few suggestions to get your neurones firing:
• What are the qualities that people turn to you for?
• When someone needs help what do you do?
• Ask other people what qualities they love about you – warning the results may blow your mind in a good way ????
• What do your love about yourself?
• What tasks, jobs, responsibilities have been given to you in the past that someone else thought you could do and it surprised you?
• What sort of compliments have you received and disregarded?
What then? OWN it, breath it in! use the information to fill up your wellbeing well. Will this solve all of your issues? of course not, but I promise it will lift your energy, maybe even put a smile on your dial. With the information you come up with, perhaps you can ask for that pay rise, charge more for your services or time? Perhaps it will be about saying not to other thing preserve your energy. Reward yourself, Look inward and see how you can incorporate these qualities into your offering or workplace. – I highly recommend doing an audit. I had a go at this recently, and last week I said no to something that in the past I would have just agreed to do and then regretted. I put myself first for a change and said no – highly energising.
Have a wonderful week
