Recovery for Small Business

Hello everyone. I hope this finds you well and safe.

This is not the buoyant start to 2020 that many of us imagined or were hoping for, but this is the one we have, so we are attempting to go with the flow as many of you are too.

To all our networks, friends, colleagues throughout NSW and Canberra we are all thinking of each other during this time.  There are a number of initiatives underway at a local and national level and I wanted this post to be a wealth of resources and links for you. We will repeat this in the upcoming Brave Magazine as well as the website.

Firstly local councils and the small business commissioner has an important survey to find out what you need for recovery. Can you fill this survey in as soon as possible? It will help to guide the relief effort funding and activities.

Survey Click Here.

CPA Australia has a really comprehensive guide to small business recovery. Apart from an incredibly detailed list. It is divided into actionable steps. You can take from these steps as you need depending on your situation. It also has a blunt reality check at the beginning - such as do you want your business to continue, were you happy before the crisis and whether you need an exit plan rather than a recovery plan. - You can find the link to this guide here:

The Small Business Commissioners Office also has a page that is a listing point for links and resources you can access this page here.

Also, the have their own guide to recovery and you can access this guide here.

Locally we are beginning with a night called from Surviving to Thriving, this event will be free of charge to all locals. There will be support services there, it will be a networking night and a night for strategy and actionable plans to move forward to help you in your business. There will be one in Katoomba to be advised and one in Springwood on February 17th at 6.30 pm at the Springwood Sports Club - Entry is gold coin donation. To register and find details click here.

 Every person in fire zones has been dealing with mental health, from trauma through to low-level anxiety. It is so important that we take a moment to care for our emotional and mental health and be patient with others as they cope too. here are some links to resources for  emotional and mental health support;

• beyondblue 1300 22 4636

• Mental Health Line – 1800 011 511

• Mensline - 1300 789 978

• Lifeline - 13 11 14

 I feel strongly in the power of networks, I live and breathe it, it has saved my life so many times and now is the time that we can really step up and collaborate for recovery. You are receiving this because you are tapped into or are a member of a network. I encourage you to share this with people who are not, for those that might be doing things tough and know that we are here to support them. We are your support network, your community.

My door is always open and my phone always on. I am very happy to chat to whoever needs support.
