How to Reset When You are Not Feeling It

You all know that I have been away and having a break. When I returned, there was a mountain of work to do, and I found myself feeling overwhelmed and feeling like I had paid the price for taking time for me… “What the?”  yes as I thought it, I was annoyed with myself, making time for me was/is and will be so important for my physical and mental health.

Nevertheless, I have been struggling to get back into it. In fact, on Thursday I cried all day as I felt everything was going wrong and a few things were having a bump and of course I believe that I create the world around me, so you can probably guess where I was spiralling to.

Why was I creating chaos or things going wrong? As I went to conquer my mountain of work, why was I struggling to find energy and focus? I even questioned my purpose and whether I should still be doing this work and therein lied some answers.

We ALL bump up against a dip in focus, energy or disconnectedness. Today I feel back on track and tuned in to the energy of what we what to create this year, and I'm excited – Here's what I did to pick myself and get back on track and what I learnt:

Resetting Energy:

1. Firstly, I moved my body. When you're sitting at a screen or at your desk or on the lounge or WHEREVER you are if you're starting to spiral then move. By moving you will shift your energy and thought process. You don’t have to work out or walk far, just move.

2. While moving or doing an action, say a simple affirmation that resonates for you – This is important. I can share with you what I affirm, but there will be a sentence that makes your internal bells ring - choose that one and say it over and over.

Our member and friend Barbara Callan has some good suggestions around this. If you're feeling challenged just alternate your feet, right foot, thank, left foot; You, Right Foot; Thank; Left foot; you and repeat repeat repeat repeat

I love: “I'm supported wherever I go”, or "I prosper wherever I go.”

3. Talk to someone. IM or pick up the phone, ask your friends to reflect back to you what they do when they feel that way. If you get chatting, they will reflect back to you exactly what you need to hear, and it will lift you.

Now that you have moved or are moving your energy its time to look at what you're creating – what the situation, what's it trying to tell you. I realised that my theme and focus right now is boundaries. At the end of the year, I realised that I was a bit burnt out and I needed some boundaries, around my time and my energy. This is my lesson and my focus. I know that this is right for me because my internal bells started ringing. Listen to yourself. You will know

You have all the answers, even when you forget you do.

What do you to get back in touch with your purpose and focus?

Until next week, stay energised and on track!

Big love,

Andy xxxx
