Focusing on surviving or planning for thriving?

Focusing on surviving or planning for thriving?

How is everybody tracking?

To me, there’s a strange feeling in the air. Many people seem to have settled into new opportunities or have knuckled down into their businesses,  completing projects and tasks that were incomplete, required invention or needed overhauling. This is worth CELEBRATING if this is you in your business that’s a major achievement. And yet I also have a sense that so many of us are a little bit disconnected and maybe that's because I convene a community that thrives on connection so I’m attuned to this.

We have all had a massive adjustment and many of us just want 2020 to end.

I get it.

During this time, remember there are people in your community, in your corner. Finding ways to connect and reach out to each other is so important, we want make sure that we are nurturing each other and helping each other when we can. I was talking with someone the other day where she felt it had all gotten too hard and was bogged down in the ‘busy'ness of helping her business to survive. She realised that she had cut herself off from the very people who help shore her up.

We are all navigating new normals, some of these ‘new normals’ are not normal at all.

JobKeeper, or a surge in covid related sales are wonderful but also temporary.

We want to move out of ‘survival’ mode and in thrive mode,
here are some questions or actions steps to focus on thriving:

1. Revisit your ‘Why’ - why are you doing this in the first place?

2. Diarise or take time to connect outwardly into your communities
2. Work on your business and plan for a business beyond 2020
3. Do I try and do everything myself? Where can I source help?

4. Do I have some support or help I can offer others?

5. Reach out to others - external perspective is POWERFUL we aren’t emotionally invested which mean clearer objectivity

6. What is ONE thing you can ACTION today that will make you feel on track, or accomplished or moving in the right direction

7. Give yourself permission to PARK an action, idea or something on your to do list.

I'm not perfect in these areas in fact when I write a MM blog I'm fully aware that this is my process too. You probably know all these but it's good to revisit them.

Until next week, all the squishes of virtual hugs that I can muster are coming your way.
