Commit THEN throw yourself IN - WWA

Commit THEN throw yourself IN

Last week I embarked on a new project around something I haven’t done before. I have been sitting on the fringe of this project for ages. I have dabbled in research, have asked people, have read information, but it never really came together for me and I procrastinated around whether I should do this project or not. The truth is I have been procrastinating for months but I didn’t want to admit it.
2 weeks ago, the universe tossed something up (as it always does) that pushed me into making some new choices and decisions. Before I knew it I had decided to commit to this new project and was making it happen, learning all I needed to and the procrastination seemed to magically lift and I was moving forward.
Of course it wasn’t magic. Upon reflection of what the difference was this time and how I got off the awful fringes (which never really move you forward) was this:
I committed – I made the mental decision that I’m all in, I’m going to try this project and see how I go. I said it out loud, I wrote it down. This was what was missing earlier this year, I just didn’t have the commitment.
When we are committed and we put our intention into place, then all sorts of things shift. Our energy moves, information comes readily as does our comprehension and actions seem to fall into place.

It reminds of one of my favourite Goethe quote:

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back– Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”

I love this quote and it’s exactly what happened for me this week. I will add though that this applies not just to big things in our lives, it can be as little as an internal project too wink wink

Until next week
Big hugs and much love
Andy xx

Thanks for reminding me of that quote Andrea! I’ve not read it in it’s entirety before, now I appreciate it even more
